001 Solomon Box — Solomon Boxes are handmade, worked assemblages/reliquaries. The boxes are constructed, reliced, and sealed, while their contents (found objects, photographs, texts, and sigils) are painted, altered, and fixed in relation. These works run alongside my paintings, guided by containment rather than expansion.
Legend holds that King Solomon invoked and summoned 72 Goetic demons, subdued and made them amenable to his will, and ultimately bound them in a mystical vessel, containing them with powerful seals and sigils.
